Tea, Crumpets, and......Paranormal?

Rosemary Stevens Rosemary Stevens lives outside Richmond, Virginia with her husband, children, and three cats. She is the author of four Regency romances and the new Beau Brummell mystery series. DEATH ON A SILVER TRAY, the first book of the series, will be released in May, 2000 from Berkley Prime Crime.
LORD AND MASTER: ISBN # 0-449-22727-8 Released l2/97 This is a Regency romance with paranormal elements. The hero's manservant, Eugene, is a genie, the heroine's companion, Miss Shelby, is fey and falls in love with Eugene, who is seeking his freedom. The heroine's cat, Mihos, may have a direct link to Bastet, and holds the key to Eugene's freedom. In the meantime (!) the back blurb for the book really doesn't reveal these things. Here it is: Miss Daphne Kendall, infuriated at the mistreatment of a lovely cat, rushed to save the poor creature. But for Lord Ravenswood--a man determined never to let any woman influence him beyond common sense--a spontaneous act of gallantry earned him the dubious honor of being the feline's new master. (Author's note: The term "master" refers to the hero being Eugene's master). As Daphne's attraction for his lordship drew her into a tangled maze of sinister doings, Lord Ravenswood--ardently shopping for an uncomplicated, biddable wife--could not resist the most unsuitable Daphne...a miss who threatened to inspire in him that most uncontrollable of all emotions: love! As you can see, Fawcett completely ignored the paranormal elements in the back blurb. Regarding my new Beau Brummell mystery series, the only paranormal-like element in it so far (note so far) is a very very very intelligent cat. The first book, DEATH ON A SILVER TRAY, a May 2000 release - ISBN# 0425174689, introduces readers to Regency England's uncrowned king of genteel Society, Beau Brummell. When a desperate Duchess of York asks for his help, Beau Brummell wouldn't think of refusing. The cantankerous Countess of Wrayburn has been fatally poisoned and her paid companion is the prime suspect. Unfortunately, the Duchess is the one who arranged the young woman's employment with the late Countess. If the accusations prove true, the scandal would ruin the Duchess's good name. Ever the gentleman, Beau Brummell hastens to the Wrayburn house to do some inquiring of his own. It doesn't take long to realize that more than one person had motive to poison Lady Wrayburn. And Beau Brummell is going to find out who they are. Because if there's one thing that's never in style, it's murder!
